Dr. Baker has over 20 years of drug development experience in the pharmaceutical industry. From 2000 to 2019, he served as Vice President, Immunology R&D at Johnson & Johnson (Janssen/Centocor) where his responsibilities included clinical development of Remicade, Simponi and Stelara, as well as other major clinical drug programs. His supervision and oversight of numerous Phase I-III trials in multiple disease areas, led to more than 15 regulatory approvals in the US, Europe and Japan. In 2015, Dr. Baker assumed the role of Disease Area Stronghold Leader at Janssen where he was responsible for Phase II & III clinical development plans for rheumatology products and the overall portfolio strategy in rheumatology and immunology. Following his retirement from Janssen in 2019, Dr. Baker served as CEO and founder of Kira Therapeutics and more recently as Executive Director on the board of Galapagos Therapeutics from April 2022 until October 2024. Dr. Baker received his Medical Degree from the University of Pennsylvania and completed his Medical Residency at Hershey Medical Center and Fellowship in Rheumatology and Immunology at the University of Pennsylvania, followed by a Research Fellowship in Rheumatology at Mass General Hospital.
Sumita Ray, J.D.
Ms. Ray has been in the biotech industry for over 25 years and has held positions as Chief Legal & Compliance Officer for over a decade at various publicly traded companies. Most recently, she served as Chief Legal, Compliance & Administrative Officer and Corporate Secretary at Vaxxinity (Nasdaq: VAXX), a formerly public biotechnology company. Prior to that, Ms. Ray held the position of Chief Legal, Compliance & Administrative Officer and Corporate Secretary at the public biotechnology companies of Instil Bio, Inc. (Nasdaq: TIL), and Calithera BioSciences, Inc. (Nasdaq: CALA). Prior to that, Ms. Ray held senior and executive leadership roles of increasing responsibility at Astrazeneca, Genentech, Elan Pharmaceuticals and Pharmacyclics. Ms. Ray began her career in private practice as a pharmaceutical and products liability litigator at the law firm of Montgomery, McCracken, Walker & Rhoads LLP. Ms. Ray currently serves on the Board of Directors of Biomea Fusion, Inc. (Nasdaq: BMEA) to which she was appointed in July 2021. She holds a Juris Doctor from Temple University School of Law and a B.S. in Microbiology with a minor in Chemistry from the University of Arizona. She is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania and New Jersey.

Shao Lee-Lin M.D., Ph.D., brings more than 25 years of biopharmaceutical leadership experience to Cue Biopharma. Prior to joining Cue, Dr. Lin served as Chief Executive Officer and chairman of the board of directors of AZEO BIO, Inc., a biopharmaceutical company she founded in July 2024 and incorporated in July 2025. Dr. Lin was Founder, Chief Executive Officer and director of ACELYRIN, a publicly traded biopharmaceutical company, from July 2020 until May 2024. Earlier in her career, Dr. Lin served as Executive Vice President, Research and Development and Chief Scientific Officer at Horizon Therapeutics and held executive leadership positions at AbbVie, Gilead Sciences and Amgen. Dr. Lin also served on the board of directors of ACELYRIN, Surrozen, Principia Biopharma and Third Harmonic Bio. Dr. Lin received her bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering and biochemistry and graduated magna cum laude from Rice University. She holds an M.D. and Ph.D. from The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine.
